Truth or Myth?

Big data is very near the top of the hype cycle as per Gartner.  And just like any other technology at the peak of the hype cycle there is a lot of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) being thrown around Big data.

Big data has become a term that can refer to the use of lots of data, or can refer to technologies. Sometimes the term can even to the practices of companies that profess to be in the big data space.

The goal of this page is to debunk the FUD surrounding big data in as dispassionate and objective a manner as possible. This is a living page and I will make changes from time to time as needed.
